We had a lovely Thanksgiving and enjoyed the company of a family that stays with us at The Muse year after year. They are currently living in FL, but have close family just around the corner in a house not quite big enough for the whole gang, so they stay with us. Our BnB is often used like this for the friends and family of our neighbors in Bay View, and the guests often become like family to us as a result.
On Sunday we brought out all the boxes of Christmas decorations and got busy turning the place into a winter wonderland. The house looks very festive and magical at the moment, and we look forward to hosting and celebrating the rest of the holiday season with other guests who have family in the area. We still have a few rooms available for some of the days around Christmas time, so if you live in the area and don’t have room for all your family, we’d love to help you take care of them. We kiddingly tell people we’d be happy to entertain your mother-in-law for you! Also – if you are looking for a wonderful holiday gift idea, consider a gift certificate. you can purchase one over the phone in any amount. The number to call is 414-745-7735.
This weekend the holiday fun continues with the 4th annual Christmas on KK event organized by Kate McLauglin (owner and master hatter at Brass Rooster/The Hen House hat shop), Stacie Cherubini (owner and master soap maker at Halo Artisan Skin Care) and Kathy Swoboda, an amazing community volunteer and good friend from our days together on the Bay View Neighborhood Association. These three have worked hard to organize the businesses along the northern end of Kinnickinnic Avenue for a night of fun, shopping and merriment that will ultimately support and benefit the Bay View Community Center. There will be a raffle of baskets that have put together by the local businesses with goods and services unqiue to our neighborhood. Spoiler alert – a night’s stay at The Muse Gallery Guesthouse is among the basket prizes! Raffle tickets can be purchased at Stone Creek Coffee or The Magnet Factory from 5pm-9pm @
$1 each or 25 for $20. Then walk the street, enjoy the activities and deposit your tickets at the business with the raffle you want to win.
We encourage you to spend Friday night in Bay View enjoying what a handul of motivated ladies in a little neighborhood have put together in the way of old-fashioned festivities. The schedule of events looks like this.
