It’s the holiday season, and this year The Muse Gallery Guesthouse will have a holiday open house on December 4th from 6-8 p.m. We spent the weekend decorating all the rooms and have something like 8 Christmas trees decorated around the house. Things are looking very festive!
In addition to having holiday treats (and Andrew’s mulled wine!) available while they last, we will have two important guests. One is our good pal Luke M. Cerny – this year’s designated holiday minstrel (also affectionately referred to as our “house musician” because he regularly entertains at our gallery night receptions) playing some holiday music for guest’s listening pleasure. Luke has a new solo album out of his own material (Luke Cerny EP). For this accomplishment, Luke was nominated for Radio Milwaukee’s Solo Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. The art for the new album cover by Ellie Chase Art was also nominated for Best Album Artwork of the Year. Good luck Luke and Ellie – we hope you get the votes you need to win! We look forward to hearing some of Luke’s new music at the party and hopefully a Christmas tune or two as well. And we are secretly hoping we get a special guest appearance by Luke’s beautiful new baby boy!
The other esteemed guest will be our good friend, Ryan Clancy – Bay View neighbor, fellow small business owner and activist extraordinaire! We will mostly be serving up holiday cheer on the 4th, but guests will have the chance to hear Ryan, District 4 County Supervisor Candidate share his vision for improving Milwaukee County. Ryan will also be collecting signatures to be on the spring ballot so we are hoping to see a lot of friends from District 4 at The Muse, and Ryan will be encouraging people to take along a signature sheet(s) to help him collect more signatures.
Ryan is hoping guests will consider donations to his campaign at the following levels:
Stocking stuffer:$25
Frosty:$50
Elf:$75
Mistletoe:$100
Krampus: $250
Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Xmas is YOU, (Ryan)”: $500
Donations, while not necessary, will be gratefully accepted at: https://secure.actblue.com/donate/muse
12/31 is the end of the fundraising cycle, and Ryan is hoping you will help him finish the year strong!
We know Ryan, but for those who don’t, Ryan spent 13 years as a high school teacher in Milwaukee Public School and was the union representative for his building. Currently, Ryan owns Bounce Milwaukee and Fling Milwaukee with his wife Becky Cooper, and is the founder of the progressive restaurant organization called The PRAWN. He’s the father of five kids and recently broke the world record for consecutive house of pinball play while raising money for Children’s Wisconsin.
Ryan has been an activist his entire life, and has been active more recently in immigration rights and reform, environmental issues, economic opportunity and freedom to thrive. At the county level he will build on Supervisor Marina Dimitrijevic’s positive progress on improving our parks, maintain and expand public transportation, and will use his relationships with state legislators to encourage passage of the Fair Deal, thus bringing Milwaukee’s tax dollars back to work on our community.
Writing all that sounds so serious, but trust us -the night will be fun! We’d love for you to come spend the evening with us if you are in the area. Enjoy some mulled wine, ask Ryan about his crazy 32 hours straight playing pinball, listen to the festive sounds of Luke Cerny and help us spread some holiday cheer. See you soon. All are welcome!
