Our guests know that things are different these days when they come to visit. When they ask what fun and Covid-safe things there are to do in the area or where they may dine-in (or in this case dine-outside) we are happy to suggest the South Shore Terrace chalets. These chalets are an example of some of the creative pivoting we have seen in the neighborhood during the pandemic. The County Parks system has a beer garden at the Lake Michigan shore in Bay View – just a mile from The Muse, and this winter they decided to keep it open. Chalets for up to 6 people can be rented in the afternoon and evening for 1.5 hours. The cost is $75 with $50 of that fee redeemable on food and beverages on offer there now. There is still beer, of course, but they have expanded the menu to include hot drinks like hot chocolate, gourmet coffee and delicious mulled wine. Other adult beverages as well as non-alcoholic drinks are also available. The food menu includes snackables, soups, salads, sandwiches and more. There is also a kid menu.
We went recently and enjoyed mulled wine and a yummy grilled cheese sandwich with piping hot tomato soup. The inside was nice and warm and it was a fun way to spend the evening during the winter. We were protected from the wind, and perfectly cozy in our little personal chalet.
